TI foods is seeking a smart, organized and experienced Benefit and Payroll Specialist. This position is primarily responsible for the coordination of all benefits and payroll information, claims, reporting, and audits for the organization. This position will also have significant exposure to other HR functions and handle other projects as assigned.



  • Payroll processing
  • Payroll administration (Mass, E-Labor, Hand punch machine)

  • Employee administration (New hires, terminations, transfers, change of address, inquiries)
  • Employee reviews & increases
  • Garnishment set-ups and payments
  • Employment verifications
  • Manager charges
  • IDES monthly reporting administration
  • IDES new hire reporting submission
  • Unemployment administration
  • General Liability claim filing
  • Employee accident claim filing
  • Auditing
  • New hire documentation
  • Form I-9
  • Personnel files
  • Employee hours tracking
  • W-2 Annual Statements


  • Union dues payments (Severance, health & welfare, political)
  • Health insurance premium payments (DHMO dental, vision, life insurance, COBRA)
  • Health insurance billing reconciliation
  • Health insurance reporting
    • ACA tracking
      • IRS filing
      • EE statements
    • PCORI
  • Open Enrollment
  • Benefits Administration (Enrollments, terminations, changes, inquiries, claims, discrepancies)

  • Associate's degree in Human Resources or related field, but experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for the education.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in Human Resources, Payroll and/or benefits administration.
  • Minimum 3-5 years payroll experience. Experience with processing large payrolls.
  • Advanced Excel skills required

  • Capable to handle multiple tasks with strong organization and time management skills
  • Must be self-motivated and know when to seek guidance; detail-orientation is a must

  • Bilingual is a plus (Spanish)
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with high level of energy and enthusiasm
  • Ability to manage a variety of complicated tasks
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills
  • Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
